The goal of this site is to provide a place to tell the story of the war in small manageable articles. After all, war is a 10,000lb gorilla and can’t be easily digested in one sitting. My goal (hopefully I will accomplish it) is to not only tell the ten-thousand-foot story as most history surveys do but to cover the detailed stories of individual technology, individual nations, individual units, and individual soldiers and the impact that they had on the greater effort. I hope to show connections between each area and where possible glen knowledge in areas that may have been overlooked by other authors that may explore only an individual topic.
So, sit back and enjoy the ride as it is going to be a long one. One that I may very well not finish in my lifetime, but maybe my research can inspire others to take my work and go farther.
